With the 23rd Pick in the NFL Draft, the New York Giants select Evan Engram from the University of Mississippi. All Ole Miss fans were shocked, considering many scouts & expert claim he was going to be a 2nd round pick in this years’ draft. However, the New York Giants saw something in him that made him worthy to draft.
Ole Miss fans should rejoice that not only is going to play for the Giants, but he is going to play alongside with former Ole Miss Quarterback Eli Manning. The Ole Miss legend has lead his team to two Super Bowl championships in the last decade. Last Year Eli threw for 4,027 yards and 26 touchdowns. Even though Eli has been in the league for 14 years he hasn’t started slacking yet.
Engram will also look to help with the wide receivers even though he is a TE. He has a wide receiver type of body. The Giants has one of the best WR group in the league. They have former LSU Tiger Odell Beckham Jr. The Giants also picked up Brandon Marshall from the N. Y. Jets and Sterling Shepard, who had a pretty good rookie campaign.
I think Engram has the skill set to be a good tight end in the league. I don’t know why people always put him behind former Alabama TE O.J Howard. I think he is better. Not to take anything away from what Howard has done, but I just see Engram a little bit better. It should be a great year in NYC.-The Kid WAOM!
